AC/DC: Cassette Copy Of Aborted 'Best Of' Collection Sold For $2,800

June 5, 2006

According to a posting on the AC/DC fan and collectors site AC/DC Highway To Hell, another cassette copy of the band's aborted Australian "best of" album "12 of the Best" has surfaced and was just sold on eBay for $2,801.23. A previous copy of the "12 of the Best" cassette was sold for $9,000 via an eBay auction last October. Check out the eBay auction page at this location.

"12 of the Best" was a "best of"-type album that was originally intended for release in Australia in 1978 but which was eventually scrapped after guitarist Malcolm Young objected to its release. Only a handful of LP proof sleeves of this are in circulation, and these were the only two known cassette copies in existence, making them extremely rare AC/DC collectible items.
